This directory contains configuration files for Linux. At some point it will probably be better organized; for now I just wanted to get something out there so that I could refer to it in a newsgroup posting.

.Xdefaults

This is (one version of) my .Xdefaults file. It is noteworthy for using the conditional compilation machinery provided by xrdb's use of cpp to set the defaults correctly (in my opinion) for different sizes of display.

It works with my .Xapps file to create a ``dashboard'' of small windows across the top of the screen.

Invoked from .xinitrc

.xinitrc

Invoked by the startx command, and also usually linked to .xsession so it will be started on login from xdm. This is actually the system-wide default xinitrc; a typical user's version would be simpler.
